It's called line haul, that's what you want. Every day is the same grind and you'll be able to time those lights like nobody's business ☺️

"I do know that I don't want drivers like yourself on the road." — I guess that settles it, I'm done...
True story; from the 3 tow experiences (break-downs and the last one) I had one guy as we are headed down the freeway proceeds to pull-up multiple YouTube videos up on his cab mounted iPad of his rockstar son protege while another is texting and driving repeatedly.
"I don't expect you to tell this community what it was that distracted you..."
Sure I'll share my experience, maybe someone will find it helpful. I don't mind.
Phone? No. Phone stays mounted as a navigation aid and text is never entered while the truck is in motion. Don't play/text with your phone while driving folks!
I will say what I think caused this incident is stress and seriously disliking the kind of work I was doing. This is one reason someone might get in a situation where they allowed themselves become distracted to the point of causing an accident. If you are getting to points where you are having close calls or you just hate what you are doing, do something about it. Try another account or another company and if that does not solve the problem another line of work is probably a better option for you..Last edited: Jul 23, 2022

One of the reasons I stuck with OTR is the change of scenery and I thought it would be more interesting. But it turns out having to deal with new routes, locations and leftover random loads is just a hassle. Line haul seems like it would be boring, dedicated might be a happy medium.Last edited: Jul 23, 2022

Regional thenabs.comp Thanks this.

I mean if it's at least a rotation through the same 20-30 stops with some distance in between that would be alright, or maybe oils field, construction, something along those lines or class B.

What you're describing sounds pretty much like the target dedicated fleet at Swift. I was out of Phoenix and ran to about 25 different stores. I hustled my ### off and usually ran about 3200 miles a week. Cpm sucked though. That's the only reason I left. In hindsight I shouldn't have.

Regional is basically the same as OTR, just covering a part of the US instead of all of it.

Target DCs are big, usually easy to find, and typically not within the inner parts of cities where getting in a tricky situation is easy.abs.comp Thanks this.
