Why 24 month payment plan?
I for one hate paying interest but you shouldnt squeeze yourself so tightly every month to avoid interest. Below I breakdown the payment structure, assuming $155,000 new truck (I'm just guessing the cost in the US based off exchange rate and Canadian price). 10% down and taxes paid you would be financing roughly $140,000 @ say 7% monthly payments would be.
$6260 - 24mo
$4322 -36mo
$3350 -48mo
$2770 -60mo
Difference in interest
24mo to 36mo $5350
24mo to 48mo $10,560
24mo to 60mo $15,960.
So for $5350 you can reduce your monthly expense by nearly $2,000. That gives you a lot more breathing room for not much more cost.
