Acert cat, got rr. Of 99 or less all around , avg 7.1 loaded, I get Bridgestone 710 or 726 for 385 on national account. It does make a difference just as a lift axle on trailer yes. In long run the additional cost saves you money long term. So I use 710 instead of 726.

I may have to rethink my tire purchasing strategy if I could honestly see 7 mpg out of this truck. Another honest .5 mpg would more than pay for the difference.
I assume your pulling a deck?

My issue is that I really dont have the clearance to lift the front axle. It would only ride maybe 3 - 4 inched off the asphalt. I'd be afraid it would get skidded on every bump.
You definitely have me interested. I'm going to do some research on low rolling resistance tires and if they will honestly make a difference,.. I'll spend the money.
My carrier has 2 Coronado Gliders,.. both with the 12.7 Detroit,.. and they both only see barely above 7 mpg pulling the same exact trailer I have. I honestly cant see my truck doing better than a 12.7 Detroit with fuel. But,.. I wont rule it out.

Hurst Thanks this.

I cant explain it. I have gotten some pretty dismal mileage from a few set of tires. I got a whopping 48k from trying to be cheap with some terrible Hankook steer tires. I'll never do that again.

I got a mounted and out the door price on some general d460's of $369 each for 8. Has anybody had any experience with these? I'm currently shopping drive tires myself.
