HEY LandShark....AUTOMATIC ONLY CDL ENDORSEMENT? Thats a NEW one,Please give me reference for that....Automatics are one of the best things to EVER come into this industry. Take your manuals and shove them,I'd never ever go back to a manual by choice. Since I see you are a OLD TIMER....REAL TRUCKER,I see you consider anyone with a automatic COMPANY TRUCK as a STEERING WHEEL HOLDER. This STEERING WHEEL HOLDER has over 3 million accident free, out of service free,48 state, snow, ice, mountian and Canada miles. The main reason we have such crappy drivers out here,is that so few REAL TRUCK DRIVERS take the time to explain the RIGHT way to do things...they would rather get on their BIG radio's and ridicule and belittle them......JUST MY 2cts! BTW I'D rather run with the STEERING WHEEL DRIVER's here at Averitt
than any REAL TRUCKER out there!

    Wingnut1 Thanks this.

Out of all the accounts that I worked at for Averitt, NONE of them had autos in the trucks. Not Shoe Carnival acct out of Evansville, IN. Not the Cracker Barrel acct out of Lebanon, TN. Not the steel acct out of Knoxville, TN to the hot water heater company in Johnson City, TN. Nor the flatbed acct out of Cincy. Drove a different truck all the time, new and older. Yes, I was from a temp agency out of Lebanon, TN. But NEVER saw even one auto. Just saying. Be safe out there drivers.

Does anyone have the recruiter contact info for Averitt? The number I have is automated, and would like to talk to a person. I am positions in AL/GA.

888-967-5487, the first 3 minutes is automated, then it transfers you to a recruiter.

I drove a truck with an automatic back in 2002 and I loved it. It was the last truck I drove. I stopped driving due to a cheating wife I had at the time. I am now remarried and have settled into to my new life and am ready to go back on the road again and I am specifically looking for companies that offer automatics.

ALL of the Volvos and Cascadias are automatics which is most of Averitt's fleet. The Pete's that are left are 10 speeds. Averitt likes the autos because they get better fuel mileage.
