Just letting you know, so there won't be extreme disappointment.
That said, beside the ones that Chinatown suggested, you could try ATS, Inc which will work you up from flatbed to heavy haul. They're headquartered out of Minnesota, but their site shows regional flatbed in your area running the southeast. You can also look at Jordan Carriers which is flatbed and has a Wind Division. There are some nationals that will hire for local also. You could also try Swift, as they have a flatbed division with a terminal in Memphis, though the flatbed terminals were Gary,IN/Greer,SC/Phoenix,AZ/Laredo,TX. Point being, with Swift you have the option of 48 state flatbed loads possible, as well as a variety of freight configurations that will allow you to try and become proficient with different securement skills, short of heavy haul, though they have some western state heavy haul I hear.

These are just a few ideas. If you're serious about what you want to do, research before you jump. If you're just looking for local work, then that's where you need to focus. Again, good luck.
