HAHA.... Thats the one. I'm not sure this trailer belonged to gratech. At least there was a heavy haul guy there that said he worked with gratech and never had seen this trailer. Still waiting on my title.
But thats for sure. This trailer hasn't hauled a load in a long time...At least 5 years or more. No rust on any of the under carriage at least.
I would have saved some money and put on used tires but didn't have a choice up in Minot. The shop up there was still really good.

it might not have i don't think i had ever seen that trailer. of course they have always had some old stuff shoved back in the back corner of the lot may have seen it and just never noticed it.
did you go to dakota truck and farm or shatz? hell even some old dry rotted rubber if it held air probably would have made it down to Bismarck, where you would have ok tire or northwest tire. northwest has always treated me fair i buy a lot of rubber from them every year. not being used for a while is probably a good thing besides the bad airlines and tires part. hopefully you did wheel seals when you put breaks on it. if its sound and safe id use it.
my old belly dump is a 1986 i don't use it much anymore. most the people i haul for have a preference towards side dumps and i prefer side dumps so i have a 2006 midland tw3000 i use for most my gravel work. i do drag the belly a 3-4 weeks per year though typically. mostly use it for spreading on county roads when i get offered that work. sometimes hauling millings they will specify they want a belly dump a few other things as well. but normally i get either requests for side dumps or sides/or bellys. my old belly dump isnt a lot to look at but ill be dammed if the thing doesn't work like a charm. gates have always been super reliable. you can hit your mark every single time on a 25mph spread. -
I went to a small shop called Veterans Diesel. They've only been around a few months. But they got me in right away and took 2 days. Charged me about $280 per tire for 24.5's (couldn't find them any cheaper here in Colorado). 8 new tires, 2 brake chambers, 2 new hub oilier caps. all new air lines (a couple lines had to be pulled through the frame). Couple other misc repairs too.
I like old equipment as long as the frame is solid. They don't make things as strong any more.
I'm pretty excited to have a belly dump. I have a construction job in a rural area thats going to need 100+ tons of crushed asphault. Figured I would save over $2500 to haul myself. Then I can still use the trailer next year. Theres a lot of dump work here in Colorado right now because of all the construction. Plus its all local. I'm not sure I'm built to be full time OTRSAR and Ezrider_48501 Thank this.
