I'm trying to learn more about what truckers think about a new product idea to help clean side mirrors. I'm not a trucker but have several friends who are. One of them asked my partner and I to develop a way to wipe side mirrors while driving. I promise this is not spam - I wont even reveal our company or product name.

We've developed an automated side-mirror wiper system that is activated from a button in the cab. It activates a fluid stream to the mirror followed by a wiper blade that passes horizontally across the mirror surface. Our wiper system eliminates the need to stop and manually clean side-mirrors. The system is powered by the vehicle's existing air system and is attached to the existing mirror. It has an attractive and professional look.

Could you folks please just answer some questions? I have many more, if you're interested, but I dont want to be overwhelming. Thanks for the feedback!

1.) How often is poor visibility of your side-mirror is an issue that causes you concern?
2.) How interested are you in an automated side-mirror wiper system? Why (ex., safety, productivity, interest in gadgets)?
3.) What price would you expect to pay for a high-quality automated wiper system? (please answer what you would expect to pay, not what you would pay or could afford)
4.) Could you or would you purchase one at the price you mentioned in #3? What if it cost $250-$350?

It can certainly be a problem, but I've never found a situation that a roll of paper towels and a bottle of Windex wouldn't take care of.

    Welcome to TTR.

Thanks, Dognot. I see you're from Texas. Do you ever travel through New England or the midwest during winters? Just curious because the drivers that have shown interest in this idea talked about the salt film, rain, sleet and snow spray that occurs while they're driving.
