Ok... I don't own this one but I have a say so in it. In about a month we're pulling the sleeper off my truck and turning it into a day cab. Which is really good for me since its alot of dead weight that I'm not getting paid for. (I get paid by the ton). It looks good, but that doesn't help the wallet much. But when we get the sleeper pulled its going to get a total repaint. Frame, rear end housings, cab, everything. Then its going to a pro polisher to get everything repolished. I'm putting a new square bumper on it Monday.
So if you were able to paint this old peterbilt any color/colors you wanted, what would it be? I am thinking White cab, turquoise fenders with a turquoise frame. New deck plate and rear frame cover, 7 inch straights and some more chicken lights.
But what would your colors be? I need ideas! Heres a picture of the truck... you have to imagine it with out the sleeper. Oh and I'm getting a new dump bed which I will polish the aluminum sides and paint the steel framing to match the frame on the truck.
Looking for input on this one. Its a simple thing.

No one? I kind of figured I would have too many ideas thrown at me.

How about snidey orange?
I had a nice looking pete pass me yesterday. I talked to him at a truckstop. He gave me a pic of it. It was blue and chrome, very sharp!

Primer gray... Just kidding! How 'bout brown with black fenders? Sure would show the dirt a lot less. Doesn't matter much though, they all look like hell after a few years unless you're a real fanatic about cleaning and polishing. (yuck) Best thing to do is trade 'em every three years.

That I am. I wash it once a week and polish once a month. Washed my own trucks more. Its a OCD thing. -
I think I may have met that guy. This one had pergo (spelling?) wood flooring and was pretty much dipped in chrome. Really nice guy too. There is a snidey orange flat top 379 running around here and it looks really good. Also theres a W-9 with the same paint and small flat top. Looks good too.
I'm looking for something two tone, simple and clean. Not concerned about the dirt. Now on the flip side.. I don't really want all black because I would be washing and waxing more than I drive... Its a problem I know. All black and chrome would be nice and all but I would never be able to keep it clean to my ocd standards. -
Is that what that is? I think that my hubby is OCD too then. LOL Someone told my hubby to "Black his out" Meaning everything, stacks, visor, everything. Man he'd be washing for weeks then. LOL
I've seen one painted along the lines of what you were talking about doing, and man it was sharp! But the turquoise wasn't the light turquoise but the darker with metal flake. It was sweet.
Silver and the turquoise would be sharp too.
Let us know what you decide, I expect pictures.

I don't think that he will give up his chrome. LOL He likes it too much, and we live very close to the I80 Chrome shop. So its on his list.

Silver! I never thought about silver! Hmm.. silver/turquoise.... or black. Black/green. I can't give up the chrome either. I live close to a Iowa 80 and a Truck Pro.

Oh and pictures are a deffinate!
