I tried to put in an app with wel companies but once i enter the my name and address info it tells me " Your application has not been chosen" before i even really get it started. So right off the bat they weren't interested lol. Maybe they aren't hiring out of ohio though. So after another day of research im still leaning towards the walmart account with schneider. Dont know a whole lot about melton they were interested as well. The pay seems good...almost a little too good starting out so im wondering what the catch is. I didn't have much interest in doing the dollar store accounts with U.S. Express so i ruled them out. Completely forgot one of my friends manages a dollar tree..said the drivers hated their job. If nothing else pops up tomorrow ill just head to schneider and get my experience in and who knows maybe stay for a couple years if its nice. Whatever job though im sticking with it no matter what this time!

Received one more call today from West Side Transport. They were offering a midwest regional with your restart at home. Anyone know if they are decent? Found some bad press but it was mostly older.

The regional run with them seems decent. What would be more consistent with miles and have better training? Got it down to ether the Wal-Mart dedicated or this regional run. Schneider said a full 48 at home each week and west side has you home for your reset. Only drawback to Schneider is id have to commute 71 miles each week just to get there. The drawback to Westside is figuring out where to park the truck.

As it turns out I've ended up going in a slightly different direction. Rumpke the local garbage company offered me a driving position. Yes it's going to be a smelly job but it pays decent, 14 bucks an hour to start .Monday through Friday weekends off. Plus they have tons of options after you have been with em a year. Like the hours too, four in the morning to noon. Just glad I found a decent job that I can still use my cdl with!

You are smart for doing that. Now you wont have to deal with filthy truck stops and all of the inbred 700lb truckers that come along with that.

I honestly think garbage might smell better than some truckers! LOL!
