Serious question, so are you just trying to avoid spending that close quality time with a trainer or is it the OTR thing ?

Not so serious: Your going to miss all the close knit quality time you could end up having with your trainer. This:tard: and this:munky2:and this :smt017 and this:smt079 this :evil1: and this :director: you will end up doing this :smt099 and this :puke:

and god forbid dont do this:smt030 and end up :pottytrain2::ky::sex: :smt082

So really I only need 200 hours behind the wheel? However long it takes, which I'm assuming you're saying is about 28 days? Then I can go solo?
    Thanks my friend.

Serious: It's the trainer or the lack there of. Just trying to avoid all the potential crap above (unless I get a great trainer). So it's like a 50/50 chance, I think, of teaming up with that one ###hole and In NO WAY will I allow some ###hole to scream at me or treat me like I'm 5! I'm a rookie, but I'm no child OR whipping boy to anyone... ANYONE!
Not so serious: Very impressed and very artistic! LOL

To be honest i have been thinking about driving again, and the thought of a fool for a trainer doesn't look appealing. But i think you can interview them some before you take off, and if things dont seem right -just dont climb aboard thats probably the only time you will have real power to make a decision. Once you roll you still have power but it might be more on their terms or involve jumping out in the middle of nowhere.

The "lack of training" --I wouldn't worry about it, ask as many questions you can --that doesn't mean you will get the right answers. This is my opinion --The driving is important in that situation --make sure you get drive time. The questions you may have, could probably be answered on this site.
As long as you get quality drive time and the trainer is someone that you can deal with --who cares if they are not the brightest bulb, if you ask for someone else because you think you are not getting a quality education you are doubling your chance of getting someone not so great.
I might take a pounding for this but --just worry about driving the truck -- in the end its just getting the truck from point (A) to point (B). If your smart you will learn the rest by asking questions if your not you will probably never get it.
Think about this, it wasn't long ago that the driver showed he could shift and drive and then was cut loose --now some company's keep "Training" drivers for months and months --are they better drivers than the ones that just got cut loose --i dunno --there's something to that sink or swim thing.

In many ways I think you're right, especially if you do get a crappy trainer. Get the driving done, and/or request a new trainer ASAP; BUT in the mean time (as an example) I don't want some idiot sleeping in the back while I'm driving - DOWN A MOUNTAIN! - having no say, because it's his truck & I'm stuck and he's putting my life in danger. I've heard stories of people being dropped off or kicked out and then being labeled with "leaving the truck" which I believe is a black mark on your record.
I understand the more I drive the more experience I'm going to get and the possibilities of being in a life and death situation like that maybe slim (maybe) ha-ha. You know; I just want good quality training. I suppose everyone wants this - of course. Like I said before... all the horror stories out there don't help calm my opinions about wanting and looking for a good trainer.
    Thanks my friend!

Watkins & Shepard doesn't require teaming or long training period.
10 days orientation and you're on your own as a solo driver.

Andrus Transportation is one to look at also.

wow 10 days in orientation then cut loss some kinda training Oh yeah I guess that's not much better than I had but I had to bunk with someone for six weeks in that time zero city driving other than interstate city. Two times backing up Once to a dock once in a parking spot at a truck stop at the point of the second backup he said I backed better than most drivers and all his trainees he had keep for 10 plus weeks and told them I was go to go. I proved from day one I could map out and plan the trip and e never asked again. I he double checked my logs and not once found an error. Just glad I asked a lot of questions I had not ht of before getting out there. Those answers helped me 100% more than his training while driving did.
