    Cornbread language:

If you go to any truck stop, in the shower section, you will see all the little mega carrier brochures promising respect, money, teamwork/family and an honorable profession. They all run the same idiot based operating program of hire a fat smelly idiot, put said idiot in a truck chocked full of cattle prods and have a college educated idiot sit behind a desk and monitor the truck. Sounds simple enough, right?
Truck will tell you when to drive, where and how. The only thing the steeringwheelholder driving the thing really has to do to avoid most trouble is pre-trip, trip plan, read all signs, and sleep when he’s supposed to be sleep.

Your brother couldn’t figure out how to make idiot trucking work to his advantage.

“It was the trucking companies fault!”

I can understand getting porked once. More than once by the same company? Heck no! Multiple times by multiple companies? Come on, dude…

Now he wants you to buy a truck and foot the bill while he does the thinking. With your money. He couldn’t figure out the cattle prod trucking but will be able to master the load boards and brokers.

I've been driving and learning light mchaincs for for 5 years before I bought my truck. The two companies I worked for where great. I was still not prepared to be a o/o. I bit the bullet and tried it any way. Now I'm stuck. I wished I had stayed a company driver. At least then I can only be mad at the boss. I could always just find another job. If he buys a truck, pride will get involved and also in the way of doing whats right. He needs a better job. Amd a member ship to this website

My nephew just turned 25, has been driving for 4 years .
He earned $98k last year , as a company driver , driving someone else’s brand new truck , and was home every weekend and off a total of four weeks through out the year .

I will activate the bat signal for @Chinatown to join in this discussion

Be ready to post your brothers MVR history , and criminal history if there is one, and location, and what endorsements he has on his CDL and what experience he has etc .

there ARE good trucking jobs out there , it’s up to the driver to find them .
