My name is Chris, I live in Maryland, I’m 20 years old and I’m interested in trucking. I would like to go to a mega carrier to start out as a company driver just to see what it’s like and to gain some experience. I will be 21 in September 2018 and would like to go over the road (OTR). As of right now I have my learners permit and have been watching a lot of videos to gain some knowledge about the trucking industry. I was interested in team driving instead of driving solo my first year if I could find anyone that’s interested, I’m open to male or female. My email is chrislovgod@aol.com. If interested I will tell you what company I was interested in through email. Thanks
Looking for partner first experience going over the road (OTR)

It's not a bad way to make a living, but let me start by telling a few things, no one in there right mind is going to team with you right now, for one you need to be 21 which I think you already know, 2 you will need to get into a school, and take a class, next pair your self with a company that will train you for at least 5 more months, then think about teaming, let me tell you this me, I have almost 26 plus years out here, and I would not let my own wife team with me, because when you team you are put your life in some one else control and is not me, if after you get all the trianing you need and decided to team, ask your future team mate how long have they been driving and anything under 5 year runCtrucking7 Thanks this.

I Never could sleep with someone else driving .
MOBee and snowmantrucking101 Thank this. -
Yeah man me neither. Not that trusting lol..

You can't trust other people driving while you are sleeping? Don't forget about the thousands of other people driving all around you that you are already trusting... My problem is I can't sleep on some of these rough torn up roads. Head literally bouncing off the pillow and landing back on it. A little motion, I can sleep. Slept though many California earthquakes. It's that hard fast sudden bounce that does it for me.. Wakes me up every time. No Sleep.

Besides the obvious safety issues, being locked in a truck 24/7 for weeks at a time with a total stranger can be rough. Your partner might not take showers as often as you, listen to the same music as you, snore, fart, etc. Being with a girlfriend, friend, cousin or someone else that you actually know seems like a much better situation.

Some guy in a flat bed parked next to me and had a cute chick with him. Then I see a head pop up, then another, then another. 3 kids, from 6 to 3. I can't imagine doing that. He always from Ft. Worth.
