I am not a driver, but I am beyond thankful for you all keeping me fed, clothed, etc.
As the title states, I am looking for some help. On June 14, 2017 during the early evening, I was at the Pilot Travel Center in Monteagle, TN. While in the parking lot, I was involved in a crash (as in I was parked but still inside and was hit). I was a little shaken up as it was a 20+ foot Penske truck vs my Ford Focus. Because I wasn't thinking clearly (being run over by something twice your size will do that), I didn't call the police nor did I get the names of the two witnesses who came over to make sure that I was okay.
The driver of the truck was very forthcoming and offered his truck number and rental agreement number. Because he seemed so honest, I thought the solution would be straight forward. I was terribly wrong. The driver claims that I hit him. Nothing about the situation would even make sense if that was the case and I would own up to it.
What I'm asking, is that if anyone was present and are willing to serve as a witness or you possibly have a camera that may have caught anything, please be in touch. It's no longer the issue of there being a moving truck tire size dent in the side of my car with limited ability to open my door, it's the issue of honesty. I've always believed that right will win over wrong and I am determined to work this out.
Pilot does not have security cameras nor does the station next door so I'm really hoping for a miracle at this point.
Looking for some help...

I find that hard to believe. I'm not saying you are wrong, I'm saying the guy in Pilot lied to you. I'd speak with the manager at Pilot, then the Regional Manager, then if they both are still saying no video I'd talk to a lawyer and see what he would charge to send an intent to sue letter to Pilot's main office for the video.
Every gas station has video. If they don't the trip and fall lawsuits they loose (as once one person finds out there are no cameras, all the other scammers will follow) will put them out of business.
When I worked installing security cameras gas stations were out number one client for the trip and fall lawsuits alone.dawgfan Thanks this. -
Always.Always. Always get a report and take pics with your cell phone. Good luck getting this mess straightened out after the fact. Take ZVars advice and seek legal counsel. ETA: contact the local Law Enforcement Agency now and advise them of the situation, they may be able to get any video, although most of those systems are on a timed loop and you may be too late.

Have you talked to anyone at penske? I don't know much about how these rental companies operate... but I am guessing they ought to have some sort of safety department that handles accidents. Talk to them and show them some pictures and hopefully the pictures will make it obvious to them that their driver is at fault. It is a rental company, I'm sure they are very used to their drivers hitting crap all the time (and trying to get out of it).

I said this exactly when I called their home office and when I spoke with local police. Police confirmed they have nothing.

I know. :/ As soon as it was over I knew I had screwed up. I had a few too many things on my mind and my thoughts were just jumbled.

Oh, the person in Risk Management at Penske knows my name for sure. I have had two very long conversations with her. Not once have they asked for pictures. I'm going to get it appraised today and hopefully pick up my incident report from the police.dawgfan Thanks this.
