Looking for what I want!

Just because he wants to be able to bring his loved ones along with him does not mean he is not a hard worker/ good driver. I too would like to be able to bring my wife, daughter & small dog along with my sometimes. I know ill probly never find a carrier that would allow this. But it does'nt hurt to look.

 

Not from day 1, hell no. You cant have riders until your probationary period is over and thats 30-90 days, at least with the companies I'm familiar with anyways

 

Agreed not from day 1, 90 days is usually the norm. Not too much to ask to wait 90 days imo.

 

Didn't say he wasn't a hard worker. It's a job first and foremost. Having riders and pets will cause "complications." Whether it be additional rest stops, additional cost for food on the road, or customers that wont allow pets or passengers. Pets will have accidents sooner or later. Pets will leave odors in the truck and hair all over everything including the HVAC systems. Just take a look at a cab filter from a truck that had a dog or cat riding inside.

The beds in these trucks are singles for the most part. Got a double bunk truck? Great! That means you get 1 single on the bottom and a bunk the size of a cot for the top. Have more than 2 people in a truck? Who gets to sleep on the floor?

Do you see the points I am trying to relate here? Do the job and THEN go home and enjoy your wife, kids, pets, and friends. You dont need the added distractions while working.

I have seen 3-4 family members exit a truck, but I don't know if the company allows

this.

 

If you REALLY love your LOVED ONES , leave them at home with the weather we are having this summer.

Bad enough if you break down in 100'F + weather but having to contend with a wife , child , dog.

 

My point is he started this thred wanting to know what companies would allow this, not to get our opions of how many passangers he should/ should'nt have. Let's let him decide what "distractions" he does'nt need.

 

He doesn't have to decide he needs a seatbelt for each passenger. The law will do that. Unless you can find some OO that doesn't care, I doubt you can get insurance approval at a company.

Sounds like he's looking for low income housing.

 

The sleeper net counts as a seatbelt.

 

I saw at the truck stop a guy , girl, and 3 kids and a dog get out of a truck.
