There are a few companies in Texas that advertise that they will rent you a truck, trailer and 'trainer' for a few hundred $ so that you can use it to get your CDL. Google is your friend.

I'm a company driver for Prime and my truck is governed at 65. But they really will nag you to drive 54-58. You need to get 7mpg and they ask for 8.
They change things around alot and try different things. I'm not sure how they decide what your truck spec will be.TennRider Thanks this. -
Don't worry about the company billing you for trucking school if you don't stay on 2 or 3 years as agreed.. They will have to pay a lawyer at least $4000 to sue you, to recoup an obligation of only 1800-2400. Second, they know you are broke, and couldn't pay even if they won.. 3rd, it may sound legal, but it is not. If they require a CDL to do the job, same goes with being paid to go take a drug screen, they HAVE to pay. If they require a uniform, they MUST pay for it. Note: Most companys that require a uniform do so to hide the fact they are not paying you enough to buy nice clothes.. Good luck newbi
