Hey everyone,
I just started looking into a few places (already applied to a couple). What I am looking for is a company sponsored cdl program with or without a contract. I have no issues going out of state for the training provided they offer lodging and transportation... food also if possible. I have already applied to Jim Palmer and should hear back from them on Monday. I live in Columbus, Ohio. Currently have no specific type of freight that I'd like to do (reefer,van,tanker).. just would like to have some options. Have a completely clean driving and criminal record. Again, would like a company if possible not a school. Thanks in advance for any thoughts and ideas!
Chris

Stevens Transport runs 48 states. The pay doesn't seem too good, but if you can hang in there 12 mos. a new world of jobs opens up.
INDUSTRY LEADING TUITION SHARE AND REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAMS
At Stevens Transport, we see the value of not only adding skilled, talented drivers to the industry, but also giving students the opportunity to learn! If you do not have the financial means to go to an outside training program, we do offer company sponsorship. This sponsorship includes:
- Training
- Lodging
- Meal Money
- Assistance
- Transportation to the Academy from Your Home

Millis Transfer also has their own school but you do pay for it and you don’t get paid while attending. They don’t have contracts though which is why I chose them to start out with. I know you asked for sponsored but just giving other options for ya.

@Chinatown gives good advice. Been a lurker on this site for months doing research on companies and reading a million threads on here and have researched many companies he recommended. Best advice I can give is just research and choose wisely. Roehl Transport is also good as they pay you to go to school and I have a good friend that just went solo for them and he likes it. They are mainly flatbed though. I wasn’t in their hiring area or I would have went with them. You should be in their area. Just don’t break the contract or you owe them like $7k or something.
