Who pays for truck repairs? Let's assume the truck you drive never needs any repairs, yet. If it needs repairs who pays for it?

I would run the numbers before jumping back into trucking. Weigh the paycheck, retirement and other benefits before jumping. You may find you can't afford to make the switch.
Keep in mind that in time he has been out of the industry it has changed....very little of it for the good. (Traffic, unpaid time, more driver restrictions etc...)TruckDriver87, tscottme and GoneButNotForgotten Thank this. -
My advice is to start as a company driver for now. That way, you'll get to know the company, how they operate, and the kind of loads they have. After some time, you can switch to a lease if you want. Since you haven’t been OTR for long, you’ll probably need some time to adjust again idk

How you guys liking up there? How's the desert lol? Are there any trees at all? I wanted to move to the desert once but now I've settled up for the forest instead.

It's great here. The humidity is so low it's hard to feel the heat. Comfortable temps year round. There's some trees, but not too many. Beautiful desert flowers & plants. Never seen a mosquito. I live on top of a hill where there's a nice breeze every day. Can see the Las Vegas Strip from my living room window, including the Sphere.

Ummm... Nice, how hot does it get during daytime? Don't tell me Texas and Florida is hotter than the actual desert up there lol, also how's the cost of living there, state-tax or no state-tax?
-
You can exercise with brisk walks when the temp. is 100 or more and barely break a sweat due to low humidity. I know that for a fact because I do a 3 mile walk most days.
There's no state income tax and no food tax at the grocery stores.
There's miles and miles of walking trails and family friendly parks. Some parks have free family movie nights on weekends with free snacks for the kiddies, such as soft drinks, popcorn, hotdogs.
Nice tennis courts and golf courses.
I think there's 5 professional sports teams here now for sports fans. I'm not a sports fan, so don't really keep up with all that. I can see a Raiders building from my living room window.nextgentrucker Thanks this. -
Most of the homes here are Spanish style & some Mediterranean Style exteriors with tile roof. The HOA's are all immaculate with the Spanish/Mediterranean styles. I prefer living in gated HOA's.

Nice, no HOAs for me though, I honestly thought Las Vegas was in Cali lol. If I ever change my mind again and want to move to the desert, then I'll give Las Vegas a second look, hopefully land is cheap there, cause I plan on buying at least, at least 10 acres of land and build a house there away from the city, about 20 minutes away and hopefully live peaceful lol. That's my ultimate goal, I'm head lock on Texas right now, the Beaumont areas, Hardin County, big forest up there, hopefully they have no flooding problems, I'm running away from Florida's hurricanes and I don't want to end it up in another problem.Chinatown Thanks this.

Lots of vacant land between Las Vegas and Reno.
