There is a 21 day I believe, from the day you apply for your authority for it to go active. That is if your insurance sends over the info

Mail checks to FMCSA? when I got mine, 16 years ago, I paid with a credit card on their website.

 

I just took a screen shot on the fmcsa website. It’s to show that urs applications will take 20-25 business days. Not how to pay there are multiple ways to pay.

It says “may” take.

 

I’ll be the first to ask the obvious question to me. Why would any O/O want to run under new authority??

 

but it doesn’t say it “may” take 1-2 days.

 

unless it’s your own authority. I haven’t a clue who would do that.

 

It took mine 1 business day...... paid insurance on Monday, my authority was active Tuesday, had authority letter by Friday.

So you applied for your authority and it became active the next day???

things must have changed since 2014. When I got my authority it definitely took longer than 1 day.

maybe what you guys are talking about is you’ve already applied and were granted authority and just didn’t activate it until later once you had your insurance lined up.

all I’m saying is starting from nothing then apply for authority to actually being able to run loads will take about 30 days.
