Actually I did remember some things I don't have a clue about--
    1.why is the earth round?
2.did the chicken or the egg come first?
3.if a tree falls in the forest and no one is around does it make noise?
4.why does spaghetti gas me up?
So I guess I am clueless in some areas

jgoldsmith44, why do you have to have every business relationship in a boss/employee aspect? If the customer was my boss, they would have a W-4 on record, and I would be getting paid by them. If Prime were my employer, then Prime would be witholding taxes and paying me with a paycheck. Neither happen when you are an owner operator, as you are either your own company, or you have established an LLC or corporation. Either way, you receive revenue, not pay. You pay your own taxes. you manage your own expenses and your own business. That is not a job in your sense of the boss/employee aspect. We have business partners that generate revenue for services. You continue to look confused with all of your posts.

as far as 'handling yourself in person" comment, I would expect you to say "hello, sir" if you met me, or some others here. Lets not show our keyboard balls here, as they are meaningless and nonthreatening.

Where does the revenue come from?
Do you not have to do a job for someone to receive revenue?
In the world that means you are working for somebody and doing it as they tell you to do it.

And again I am misquoted--I did not say handle myself in person.
What was actually said was "I can show my abilities in person"
You can take that however you wish and as far as the sir thing--I have never called anyone sir--even my dad as he was an enlisted man in the army so sir contained a bad meaning if you were not an officer.
But I do enjoy meeting new people.

I don't understand how this has turned to a whos the boss argument, when it started out about you not making any money with Prime. Wasn't that the real reason for this thread? Then you have a few people say you are not correct in your original point and now it's about who in fact is the boss? I bought some stuff from Walmart today, does that mean I'm the Walton's boss? That would be cool to be the boss of the richest man in America.

on another point?, there isnt one BEST company, everyone has different needs, I've had people tell me they make execellent money at prime, and some say they couldnt make any money at prime, I know this is not the question you asked, But?, no one can say this company is the best!, or this company is the worse!, I've meet drivers that run as a trainer with England saying they take around $700.00, and there happy with that, If you find a company that balances your life in terms of home time and on the road time, and you make the money your happy with, then thats the company for you, good luck in your search

    Yes it would be--lol
but in truth any of us that shop at Walmart are their bosses because if they do it their way and no one shops there then they have to do it the customers way and not their way so in essence the customer is the boss of any successful business.
That is my whole point that whether we admit it or not we all have bosses and I choose to think tthat my way of earning a living locally is better than humping a living Otr and being in a truck most of the time for my personal choice.
But then people want to put down the fact that I "only" make $960 a week (God has blessed me well),or run down my driving abilities because I didn't make money at prime inc.,or even tell me how they would make me act in person.
I do understand we all have a boss if we make a living by making money and my life is very happy and content still because I please the people that pay for my lifestyle.
I just always remember that come 1600 then I am free to do as I please until I arrive at 0730 the next day.

That is the best point--prime did not work for me and I would advise anyone to avoid them but o&s was great to work for and worked well for me as I could get at least 2300 miles and my top week was just shy of 4300.
    Good deal but perfect? NO
    but whose company is?NONE
some just more crooked than others is all.
    Am I proud to drive a truck?YES
Do I want to be gone on the road all the time again?NOT AT ALL
even though I realize that some Otr drivers make more than I do money is not of the highest priority in my life

I think your last post was telling. Just because Prime was not a good fit for you, you still cannot recognize that it might be a good fit for the others you are discouraging. What if one of the people you steer toward O&S or one of your other favored companies has a bad experience? Your name is mud then.... Just say it was a bad experience for you and leave it at that. To go beyond is insulting those of us who are doing well with prime and is just bashing the company.

PS- How many companies will send you to 4 days of classes before you even start your training? How many companies will spend that much time & money to ensure you have the info needed? Free hotel room and food as well? Not many, if any at all.

First off I would not steer anybody towards o&s now because they are affiliated with prime.
As for 4 days of training my other experiences have been for 3 days.
It is my right to speak freely of any company that I have worked for and experienced--freedom of expression is what my great grandpa stood up for in world war 1,something both of my grandpas defended in world war 2 and something my dad and 5 of my uncles defended in Vietnam so me or anyone else can speak our opinions and give our thoughts.
No one will hear me speak ill of companies like Crete,jb hunt,Werner,Schneider, celadon, covenant,US express or any others.
Why? Because I never worked there so all I know is what drivers that have worked there say--good or bad but since they have worked there they can bash them and tell people to avoid them.
I do not hear people saying to quit telling them to join prime because if they have a bad experience your name is mud.what would exactly be the difference?

Either way I am 100% positive that I solely will not make up his or her mind about joining prime or any other trucking company available.
I just see that I give a contrary opinion to the rest of you on prime or what a boss is then I am bashed on my driving ability,my confusion level,my confidence in my abilities and whether I would cower down around you guys or not. Interesting
