    And people ask, why I don't pull a lowboy any more. LOL well I'm glad you're doing good and makeing some money. Went back to US division this week 2700 miles good week. Can't say I really miss doing all the stops. Drive safe have a good weekend and enjoy the ride.

    Very good thread! Im trying to read all the threads dealing with flatbed, as I just started recently. One day thinking of trying heavy haul, after I learn what I need to know. A lot of interesting things youve pulled so far. Keep the thread goin!

    That really sucks.... I know I was out from August til this past Monday. My FM is good at getting me home, just keeps forgetting I have no place for a trailer. Its your thread you can vent if you want to lol If your sick, they need to give you time to get rested n better. Hard to do your job when your not 100%

    They did give me time to get some rest...but its hard to get much sleep when you can't frickin breathe.

    I overslept a couple of times...neither of the shippers had a problem with it...but I noticed the change in my FM's attitude immediately...and I know from experience where that attitude leads.

    This is the beginning of the end for me at Maverick.

    Any leads on other companies that do heavy haul? It sounds like an interesting career... Someday Id love to do it.

    So from your thread it looks like you haul a lot of heavy machinary, anything else? I know we haul some tractors n such here, but Ive never hauled um, yet.

    It was a lot of combines...until Maverick did something to piss off the people we were hauling them for (Maverick seems to do that a lot).

    Now its mostly Case stuff...tractors and such, still some combines...but these are loaded with the wheels off at that factory. Thats not the same as me driving them on and off...I can load them in about 30 minutes...go to the factory and you'll be there at least a couple of hours.

    Why is it that anything that allows a driver to make some good money never lasts? I know the answer to that...and its just downright greedy on the company's part (and thats not specific to any one company...that goes for all of them)

    What is the hardest to secure/haul? Of all the things youve hauled so far. Its the times, people are very greedy now a days... One reason I like to be in my truck alone going down the open road.

    Combines with the wheels off...

    They are too low to the trailer, its hard to get them chained "right" and not tear the paint off them in the process.

    Lots of drivers stretch the chains way out which makes it easier to secure...the problem is...its not very secure at all (no downward pressure)

    T-hooks help...but Maverick, being Maverick (not always very smart in their decisions), doesn't really want us using T-hooks.
