My wife is a medical transcriptionist and currently does QA for her company. Pay isn't stellar and there is the constant threat of the work being move overseas or to automated transcription platforms, but it's 100% at home. She is also currently taking courses for medical coding, first her CPC then her CCS. Most jobs there do require some time at the facility that hires you but many that require experience give you the option of starting from home after a bit of a probationary period.
I'm sure there's others but that's just from my personal experience.
Looks like Omni specialized is in trouble

And for many, that's what it can be. Not everyone is ready to jump ship at the first sign of trouble. I mean hell, Enron was named in several lawsuits, as well as a felony investigation, , I know of two employees that stayed all the way up till the doors closed because they were hoping for a good outcome

Everyone that should be in the trucking industry (no drug history, no 5 wrecks in the last 3 years, no 10 speeding tickets in the last 3 years, etc) can get a job fairly easy. Sure it may not be a great job, but even a crappy job that actually pays is better than a great "job" that doesn't pay. I put job in quotes as if one is not getting paid, it's not a job but a hobby.
