This makes no sense, if you are leased to a carrier, you operate under their authority, not your own.

Sorry to hear it did not work out for you.

I understand your frustration but you have to do what you can do. Especially if your money is depleted.

If you lease on to someone like Landstar it's the same as having your numbers. You pick your Freight and come and go as you please.I think you can even pull their trailers or they might be able to help you get one. I'm sure someone knows better than me.

Or you could lease onto to mag carriers. They give you 90% and you can pull any freight that you want. Even power only. They are exactly the same as having your own Authority, except you're running under theirs and you have to meet their safety criteria. But really you just use their authority to book whatever Freight you want. You have complete freedom.

If you pull power only I hope you do better than JB Hunt. They keep sending me power only for some ridiculous number like a dollar forty a mile...

It isn't the attorneys that are awarding damages.

Cancel the insurance yourself before the payment date, voluntarily revoke your authority and lease on to someone......

That’s the only move you got.... unless your gonna hit the lottery.

I understand your hyperbole of drunken driver vs semi, but drivers need to get dash cams. In fact insurance companies should encourage dash cameras. But we know insurance companies are part of the problem we’re having now.

It was a local agent agent we had shop around for us that got us the best deal.

This is very good advice. It’ll be the difference between getting insurance the next time your ready to try this and not. Insurance cancellation and involuntarily revoke is like a death sentence.

Sounds like you have learned a lot from your mistakes. Nobody ever said this stuff was easy. Hope it all works out for you now and in the future.

Not to hijack, but are your coverage amounts the basic coverage the majority of brokers/shippers are looking for?
