I took my truck to a dealer for dpf cleaning and not when I start my truck it feels like it's doing a regen. I picked it up yesterday drove it 30 min to my lot as soon as I parked it started doing a regen it lasted about 35 -50 min, today I turned it on n the regen sounds like it started again, the turbo sounds louder than Normal like its doing a regen. I have a load tomorrow should I attempt to take it or go back to the dealer. Idk if this is normal until I drive it a little

If you just had your DPF cleaned the shop should have regened the truck after repairs were completed. It should not be regenerating this soon if it was just done.
If you are hearing a whistle noise you didn’t hear before you likely have an exhaust leak somewhere.
I would go back, sooner than later.lwlevens, Alexp2686, spsauerland and 1 other person Thank this. -
Also, were you cleaning for maintenance or Regen issues. Year, make, model, engine always helps too.
Alexp2686 Thanks this. -
It was preventative maintenance, there was nothing wrong with my truck. I was told it's recommended every 200k miles or so. I also had em change the Def filter while they were at it.
The truck is a peterbilt 587 2016 Cummins isxspsauerland Thanks this. -
I canceled my load took it back to rush truck center, they said my turbo had a wrong clamp cause it was leaking air. They replaced the clamp the air leak stopped, but the whistle is still very loud. Also another thing I notice is my idle gallons per hour is at 2.0, it was always 0.7 unless doing a regen. At regen it would get to 2.0 then drop back down to 0.7. I told them that and they said that the truck wasn't doing a regen it just sounded like it. Another thing I've noticed is the turbo at idle is not 0 its right under 10 psi. When you hit the accelerator it goes back to normal even if u just press on the brakes it changes a little.
But the dealership told me to just ride it and see what happens which doesn't make me feel too comfortable, It don't feel normal.Oxbow, lwlevens and spsauerland Thank this. -
Doesn't sound right to me. Need Insite to see what is going on.

The tech plugged in his computer, there were no codes he also said he reset everything. But the whistle still sounds like it's doing a regen and idle cosumption still at 1.7-2 galons per hour (normal is 0.6-0.7). If I'm going down the road it sounds normal, but if I take my foot of the accelerator it starts again.

Well after driving for 2 hours the turbo went back to normal, but on the way back from the 2 hour trip my Check engine came on.... I did the accelerator trick to get the code and it was coming up 3315 on cummins isx.. lucky for me the dealer was on the way I stopped and they verified it was an active code and I believe he said it was the doc sensor... Long story short the tech that took off my dpf for cleaning forgot to plug in the sensor, he said it was just hanging there..... at least he was honest about it... Thank you guys for the help!
