I have been scouring the internet looking for some kind of database or directory for low bridges. Nothing quite as much fun getting to a blind bridge and finding that you dont fit under it then having to back out and find a way around. Running your entire route on google maps just isnt doable every time. Where can a driver look for this kind of information?

The Rand McNally Road Atlas has a whole section on it.
You probaply should have one anyway.

Front section of your Rand McNally Atlas is the best. Has worked for me for over 20 years and never failed yet. Be safe out there drivers.

Your road atlas has all bridges under 14 feet and restricted routes for trucks

I bought a Garmin Truck GPS when I started hauling cars, since you very seldom left out with a load that was under 13'8. I tried it out in my pickup by driving to numerous low overpasses in my city. You can set your height and adjust as needed. I still look at the atlas and never go under an overpass without looking at the height on the sign first. The GPS hasn't let me down yet and I have delivered many loads in the Chicago area.

go in to south atterboro mass. and tell me how accurate the RM atlas is. i was stuck there driving around in circles for 3 hours trying to find my way out of theyre after making a wrong turn with a load of mulch blah!!!!! truck route signes were faded to nothing but a blank piece of metal and a 11 or 12ft bridge what seemed like around every corner

There are also truck routes in Mass that when your empty in a van, you will scrape the rear of an air ride trailer. I have first hand knowledge of this. It was ok in a van, but wouldn't work so well in a carhauler.
