BQE it gets everyone the first time. There's a push right now for NY to re mark the bridges properly. There was supposed to be a special on it on roaddog.

Probably was but just a hair out of adjustment if it was. I went in loaded and noticed the 13'6 and truck route signs. Had no issues going in but coming out mty it looked like 4 th of July on the top rear of the trailer. You know how thin the roof of a trailer is, and it just scraped but didn't leave a hole or gouge. I just figured it was an east coast thing. It was nearly 20 years ago, before truck GPS, so I just followed the truck route with the atlas.

Than you had a bad level valve the height would b the same loaded as empty or 20 years ago it was spring ride .. this is starting to sound like one of those "truck driver stories"

You can't believe that a trailer would just barely scrape an overpass on one side of the road, but not the other. Oh well! There was most definately air ride trailers in the early 90's.

RM can't be trusted for clearances. There are MANY not listed. I use google maps street view to travel the perverbial "last mile" and use it to look for low clearances and tight corners.

Oh it can happen. Take the Stoney Island Ave exit off I-94 in Chicago going north and you will be fine (14' clearence) but going south you will peel the top off the trailer if you make it out the other side.....most get stuck under it as its 13'2" going south.

RM only lists low clearences on STAA truck routes, not side streets and non-highlighted roads. They should make a map with just bridge clearences, but I'm sure they change so much that it wouldn't be cost effective for them.
