Where is the best place to buy fleetguard fuel filters and oil filters? It doesn't matter if it's online or from a brick and mortar store. Getting a little sick and tired of going into sp***Co and coming out paying $450 for a $200 job. I'm in the Houston area so if anyone knows a decent shop that won't cut my arm off I'm open to that also.

Buy a case of filters at a time. Call around Freightliner, Pete, Cummins, Truckpro or whoever and see who is having a sale on filters. Normally they are all about the same price on just one filter at a time. Doubt anywhere online could compete because of shipping cost but could be wrong.

Houston Freightliner has good prices on filters. Luberfiner filters, Donaldson, Fleetguard, whatever...

I buy filters when the big sales events come around. John Deere, NAPA, and some of the truck places have a couple of events every year. BIG BIG discounts.

Is it me or have truck dealers been playing real games with the pricing on common parts like fuel filters. I have had several Freightliner dealers and a couple of Detroit Diesel dealers try to charge me as much as $25 for a secondary fuel filter for a series 60, a part that should go for maybe $7-8 bucks individually. I think they are bulking up the profit margin, most companies that drop off their trucks for service in the shop don't go over the bill, they just pay it. An real easy way to increase profit. Happens with other common parts also. It has gotten to the point I always ask the price and prepare to walk away from the counter...
Ryder is an excellent place to get truck parts in the link above...

Use to use these guys a lot. http://www.fleetfilter.com/ You have to buy several at a time though to make it worth messing with.
They are WIX branded, or a fleet site for NAPA. So you will probably have to cross reference the numbers to find them on this site.

Have a CAT motor & have been using Donaldson, they are the partner with CAT filtration(http://www.afsifilters.com/) & are made locally. Local dealer for them is
a F/liner dealership & have not found them cheaper online or elsewhere.

I go back and forth using either Donaldson or CAT filters. Right now getting thru the last of my CAT's from a case. CAT house has sales on their filters by the case and sometimes cheaper than Donaldson (and other brands - but I only use Donaldson or CAT - personal preferences)
