A lot of the dealers will charge pretty close to full retail on parts, the key is to find those that want repeat business and will give a nice discount. I get extended life Donaldson primary filters for my Davco for about $12 a piece, secondary spin on for a little over five bucks....

Not all dealers price their parts the same, and not all parts guys within the dealership do either. I get excellent discounts because I take the time to search out the best avenues for what I need....

Developing a friendly relationship with a specific parts guy is a really good idea, imho.

I needd a set of filters today for a D13 Volvo, worth roughly $55 wholesale and $105 retail (at the Volvo dealer). Was driving thru Effingham and called to Roush truck centers if they had them in stock. Guy said yes. I went in and he priced it $224 for fleetguard. I mean, come on, who would have ever paid this?
Places like this are really fishing for idiots. I don’t get it.
