Lower Trucking Age Requirement question?

I think there are plenty of 18 y/o that can handle it, if you grow up on a farm your driving pickups in the hay field when your 10 operating backhoes and tractors by 12 and by 15 a D8 does not intimidate you. If this 18 year old driver thing every happens I doubt it , they will just keep bringing in cheap foreign labor

 

So i'm guessing you one of those 18 year olds that thinks he knows everything and that's why you make ridiculous comments instead of respecting someone with years of experience there's a reason why the public said don't let them drive, there's a reason why insurance premiums are higher for younger drivers and most of all there's a reason why you should listen to folks that do have the common sense that they've learnt from life experience.

 

Just because you have driven for years doesnt mean anyone has to respect you. You aren entitled and dont act like you are. Most of all, no one will respect you with the attitude you have. Ive seen plenty of idiot drivers who have driven for many years. I never claimed to know everything, yet you still feel like putting me down to make yourself feel better.

 

What's the problem? I know some 18 year olds I would trust behind the wheel more than some guys who've got 20+ years experience. It all comes down to attitude and willingness to learn. Personally I'd rather see responsible 18 year olds behind the wheel before foreign workers.

If you can't go OTR, there's always local. My company will hire 18 year olds and we're home daily.
