Take the taller blocks out from between the springs and axle. You will still need a spacer block at least the thickness of the center bolt head on the spring pack. Get new and shorter u-bolts bent for it. Hope you can shorten/adjust the drag link because thats gonna need to be messed with to get steering wheel and box centered again. And as everyone else has said realignment is needed. You should have the height you are looking for. Just be prepared for the aluminum fenders to start to crack in the arch just above the tires with this new look.
BoxCarKidd Thanks this. -
SmallPackage, thanks for the info. I've seen countless early model 379's (especially show trucks) that set more like the later 379's so I knew there was surely a norm for doing it.

Not to mention it didn't even really help the ride of the ol log wagon that it was. -
I have a 1990 379 EXHD. It is a work in progress but I just got new tires and a alignment. I put 24.5 talls on front (original size) and 24.5 lo pro on rear while also putting a m834 (1.575 thick) spacer block instead of the original that was around 3.500" on front axle. Angle may have changed 1 degree. With the 330 wheel base it now has an ever so slight rake. goes down the road fine. However I haven't put it under a trailer yet.
