If you did your testing on the ball mount mounted on the roof of a car your changes would have been less drastic. But because the testing was done on the side of a truck the changes were not for the reasons that you thought they were. Getting the coil away from the cab was the biggest thing that caused your changes. That long antennae I made for the T600 I could chop 2 feet off that shaft and attach it to the roof of a car and I might only need to add an inch to the whip to make up the difference. Which is precisely why I said change is above the coil are drastic and changes below the coil are not drastic.

I saw the differences with the coil being to close to the cab..My mount allows either vertical or about a 10-15 degree lean..The minimal lean made noticable positive results..
Nothin like trial n error to see what happens..
Bit of a curse when you start gettin deeper into this stuff...

lol wasnt so simple,it was a PIA to tune useing a longer whip and almost no adjustment space for the whip..
    trial n error..

Let some air out of the tires or suspension.

Air outta the suspension will wear out drive line way quicker and if done to tires adds tire wear, mpg goes down

It's pretty crazy to think that subtracting one inch of whip means you probably have to add 6 inches of coil or two feet of shaft to make up the difference. I don't quite understand the science of it.
I do everything by trial and error

I hear ya rabbi...I knew it couldnt be that simple but i had to try..It did work well but no better than a longer top mast..It did look cool in an odd way..

Give me a break, no driver in his right mind would do it. It was a joke. With what i move, I could give two hoots about fuel economy. Yesterday was the lightest load I have had in a while, grossing 100k

In my entire life, I have yet to wear out a driveline. Replaced a few u-joints but never a driveline.

well at 100k gross weight you can still save fuel assuming truck is working right...All bets are off if its an emission truck..
When i said driveline i was referring to bearings n u joints..
The tone of your reply makes you look a lil upset...Maybe try rolling in the snow nekid for a few min to de stress..lol make a nekid snow man while your at it..lol
