Hey all. So, I'm driving a 2015 Pete 579 with a 5th wheel that has a 51" height. I'd like to get it down to 47-48" as I am going to be hauling exclusively 53' vans and don't want "tilted trailer" syndrome even if it's only 3" as I know that may be 3" too much for some east coast bridges and will also adversely affect my mpg. Is there a way to lower my over all 5th wheel height without having to put on a set of shorter drive tires? Thanks!

There is, mentioned in the owners manual of my '11 386, a way to adjust ride height via the air suspension. That would be worth looking into. I've got tall everything and I'm riding at 49"

I checked my owners manual and it appears there is a section that talks about adjusting the suspension ride height; however, it warns that it should only be done if absolutely necessary and only temporarily.

    Brickwall Thanks this.

Ah ok. Might be worth bouncing into a pete dealer next time you see one then. 51" is tanker height. There has to be an easy/cheap way to drop it down a little. Sounds overinflated to me...

You can change out risers on the 5th wheel. Holland makes a variety of heights for different applications. Just be carefull of your rear fender height so that trailer doesnt hit them.

I’d change the risers on your 5th wheel before I started messing with your ride height and getting things all out of whack.

changing the risers is the right way to do this if you change the ride highth of the air suspension your going to throw your drive line angles all out of wack
