I seem to be changing out the 2 6" flex pipes which connect the y under the truck to the pipes which go up the side of the cab every year. First one goes, and then a month or two later, the other one. This time I am going with stainless, little more expensive, but maybe it will last longer than galvanized. I was wondering if anybody has any ideas how to make these things last longer? I was thinking about putting some sleeves over top, like a piece of stove pipe, with a couple hose clamps? That would protect them from road spray, salt, etc. wouldn't it?
Funny thing with mine is, this time they didn't rust through, just broke, and were hanging by one "strand". Not sure if that indicates anything or is normal. Feedback?

You need those flex pipes to allow for the cab movement.
I've got stainless flex on my Lowmax and it's going on 5 years still looks like new!
Must be the cheap galvanized04 LowMax Thanks this. -
sounds like you have excessive movement in your exhaust, might need to add a support brace somewhere along the line, no?

Yes, I am wondering about that too. It might actually be coming from the braces on the side of the cab, there are some rubber mounts there that are getting old and dried out (sounds like my knees and shoulders, lol).

Stainless is the only way to go.
