You have two choices pick good paying loads to haul, what few there are, haul cheap loads.
Or learn to sit and do something else till market improves. You can be broke and sitting still or broke and working everyday the choice is yours. I see more and more new hotshot trucks here in AL. they all hauling the same cheap loads or nothing at all. You're just in the wrong part of trucking right now. I'm there two.

I haven't moved a load in over a month now and I'm fine with that. I would rather sit then take loads for the ridiculous that are out there.

I'm hoping in the next few weeks things start to ramp up and rates go back to a decent price.

I'm thinking of buying another rig and getting back out there until things change. Well all we can do is just hang in there. Good Luck

You know it's really sad when you have a lot of money invested in equipment and all you can do is Look at it. It's like the saying there's no fun when the rabbits got the gun.

What really sucks is seeing your gross income go from 100K to 45K in a couple years.

As expected, we're already seeing rates start to rise and freight pick up over this way. This week we booked several loads paying from $1.80 to $2.80 per mile. This week was by no means a easy week though. There's still some pretty slow areas out there.

I've heard some people saying the Southeast is also picking up. I haven't looked in the Southeast myself to varify that though.

I think we're all about to get very very busy. More so than usual for this time of year.

Even back when I owned semi trucks I stayed away from 48k lb full loads. Everything we haul today with our hotshots is pretty much the same stuff that I started hauling with semi trucks over 30 years ago.
