I use the Crosby (Lebus) L-140 binders, WD-40 on the threads and keep them closed as much as possible. each load you can kind of guess how many threads it takes to tighten and keep as little thread exposed as possible when in use. I also cut small 3-4" lengths of bicycle inner tube and slide them over the handle to cover the ratchet mechanism to keep crud out of them. that is the biggest trouble spot for me, when they fill full of salt/sand/dirt and you have to hammer the lever to switch back and forth.

I was wondering what flatbedders thought of that stuff. One day at work I was looking for something to use on my pallet jack that actually lasts longer than a day, and one of the mechanics handed me a can.BUMBACLADWAR, Deere hunter, singlescrewshaker and 1 other person Thank this.

I filled them with 5th wheel grease and screw them in all the way ( keep them all the way in will prevent getting water salt dirt ) , only unscrew when using them
D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
