As mentioned, I usually just use white lithium for everything. I know it probably isn’t the best product out there, but it’s cheap and it’s available most everywhere. I also use it on the winches, moffett forks, just about everything lol.

Took me probably 1 hour for 12 binders - last over 9 months

excess grease that squeezes out of the kinpins and tie rod ends and such. I catch with a finger, collect in cardboard like a painters pallet then go smearing it on stuff. Exposed bolt threads, binder threads and 5th wheel usually.

I’ve used Termin-8R so far. I think it works well especially for the Canadian cold winters. I haven’t lubed them in a couple months and they are due to be lubed now as I’m at the slapping the direction flipper with my palms stage.

I’ve got other lubricants in the truck storage box as well, like honey-goo, fast acting penetrant, gear lube, etc.

I think they came from NAPA Auto parts suppliers.

    I can confirm tomorrow.

Ive had to get out the 5 foot lead pipe now and then.

CREAK... PING!.. FORE!!!! everyone hides waiting for the clang or the scream of agony one of the two. It will resolve in time. Just wait a bit.

Regarding binders... well I put whatever I put on them. Brake fluid. WD40, oil whatever. Then get the big bar on it and haul. It will come out sooner or later.

I use regular gear oil in a goldenrod pump Oiler. I give the threads and the ratchet mechanism a little squirt after every other trip before I close them all the way and put them up. That way they are oiled and ready to go for the next load. The fresh oil also keeps them from rusting closed because i May use them again in a few days or not for months.

I've tried everything and I've come to swear by Fluid Film. But, I use mine several times a day, everyday and they're always at least somewhat protected on my covered wagon. Many other guys I know swear by chain lube, like for a motorcycle or chainsaw.
