I’ve been told we got our cases from Bumper to Bumper of New Hamburg, Ontario, not Napa auto parts.

Aren't chains best kept dry as to not accumulate abrasive dirt in the lubricant?
"Keep the belts wet and the chains dry"... -
I'm just passing on second hand knowledge. Lol. I've even seen guys pour straight 10w-30 on binders... while lying on the floor of an aluminum trailer. Sounds like a recipe for a slip and fall disaster to me!D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

I looked up that termin-8r stuff. Their website says it's not yet available in the US.

Last time I did the threads on mine, was with copper coat for drill steel threads. Waterproof, and last a long time. For the detent pin I just hit with motor oil occasionally..... -
Well that sucks, I find it to be a good product.
It’s pretty much my go to spray for parts. -
It certainly sounds good. I was to pick up a can to try.

I just keep old drain oil in a squeeze bottle and use that .
Also use that on the 5th wheel in sub-zero temps.
Once a year I wire wheel the threads.SAR, OLDSKOOLERnWV, D.Tibbitt and 3 others Thank this. -
I used to mix ATF with gear oil, made a nice viscosity. Then I got older and preferred throwing straps instead of chains. Didn’t use my binders as often and would keep them wound up like @pavrom said with some 90wt on them. Worked pretty good when I needed them.
D.Tibbitt, kylefitzy, MACK E-6 and 1 other person Thank this.
