My mom manages shipping dept. And I told her about it. She laughed and ask why to. Then when I explained the cycle of we pay con, shipper pays us, then shipper charges con, she really laughed. They pay all those people for extra paper work that goes no where. If the con just hires the lumpers it'd end lumped fees.

It's nothing more than a shell game. Hiding money so they don't have to pay taxes on it. They can also get away with hiring some poor schmucks to bust their arse for less pay and the consignee doesn't have to pay benefits or payroll taxes either.

Those guys lumping that aren't losing out. They charged me $190 to unload a truck with electric pallets. Took an hour. Buddy of mine had to pay $80 to unload 4 pallets the other day.

Paid $150 to unload 550 tires this morning. They had it done in 30 minutes.

The first one I mentioned was a seperate outfit. The tires I had unloaded not sure if it was seperate or not.

Here's my question. How am I supposed to unload the load, if I want to get paid with a lumper? Would they allow me in the warehouse? Would they give me the forklift? Or. I mean, how is it going to work?

They are going to give you a pump jack. Or if your certified for pallet jacks some warehouses may let you use one. I use a pump jack at all my stops no problem.
