Sounds like you didn't do very well at all. Are these reefer loads?

Seriously, just say no to lumper loads. Long standing ridiculous hurdle in the industry that the driver should have no part of.

Just say no to lumpers. Talk about an issue that needs a protest.

    Yes, they are.
We didn't get paid for the first load yet we did two weeks ago.
She sounded like she knew the street we live on because her in-laws are living two houses down from where I live.
So, I kind of felt we are helping each other, a neighbor helping another neighbor. She surprised me with the lumper fee after I agreed to take the load.
    Now, it's a touchy situation.

Most Brokers will issue a comcheck for Lumpers. Something that needs to always made clear upfront. I’ll pay cash, or with a card, sometimes, if the loads worth it. Then a new confirmation sheet, with fee included.

How much do you charge them for it?
I think the loads are worth it. The rate was agreeable.

Charge them? All I want is the Lumper money back, if I have to fork it out, a new confirmation sheet, with the cost added on. Then the load pay is considered revenue, and Lumper fee is a cost of doing business. For taxes. If they issue a comcheck, confirmation stays the same. Either way, I forward a copy of receipt, either in their name, or mine, as proof of payment.

I asked because one broker charged me $10 for issuing a comcheck to cover his lumper fee. He deducted from the rate that was agreed upon. It took them almost two months to pay as well: Dependable Logistics Solutions.
It was night. One lumper fee was almost $300. And they didn't accept any credit/debit card. So, they did send a comcheck, but then said they deduct $10 for it.
Never again will deal with them. I had to use the Covid-19 exemption as well.

Lumpers and lumper companies/fees should be outlawed. It's just another way to rip off the transportation industry. Do we get paid to back our trailer into the dock, no because that and opening the doors is part of our job. Just like it is the receivers job to unload and count his freight. Just really tired of someone ripping us off.

How would you have them outlawed?

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
