Please, you think those lumpers are getting $20/hour? The lumping company may get that, but the guy lumping that load is barely getting minimum wage

All I know is, Walmart is a company of the "new-age" genre, & if you think they're getting paid the same as a laborer working for a legitimate labor outfit you've just gotta be mistaken. I've never worked for Walmart but when I was unloading docks for a labor finder company & applied to Walmart to unload their docks, I was told the position paid minimum wage flat out. I probably could have negotiated higher due to my experience but I'm assuming a lot of walmart dock workers make min or close to it. Maybe I'm wrong.

"Lumpers" is a system that is a carryover from the past. Today I find it is a bit silly. In the end the warehouse company is paying the bill. Driver is charged, driver gets payment from company, company charges shipper who then just charges it back to warehouse company or buries it in their charges. To answer your question yes most all Lumping companies take Comcheck and EFS. They most times will have blank checks too. When I was driving lumper information was part of dispatch sent on quailcomm.

We have to get unity between drivers someday set a new rules and start charge receiver DOCK BACKING FEE, TRAILER DOOR OPEN FEE, all power equipment operators must speak English have proper training and valid permit to work in my trailer. If permit is not current the fee will apply.
Hopefully protruckers organization will support my idea. I promise to pay 10% and elect.

I have to be honest, I have no problem with lumpers, they unload my truck so I don't have to. I dont pay for it, it's not coming out of my pocket, so I am just glad to see someone else with a job. One less person my tax dollars have to support.
