Go to a major manufacturer and see who unloads their trucks...they do.

Lumping is a scam... many dock foremen get a cut off the top for allowing lumpers... years ago the mob ran the docks, the Teamsters and the lumpers. Everybody paid skim.... it was originated by the unions and the Teamsters to get non-union drivers to pay up.

When I was a rookie I used to listen to the old drivers talk about this from back in the 30's and 40's... nothing new today. If you were a Teamster you didn't pay...if you were a "scab" (their word not mine) you paid...
