I always got detention pay after the first hour, so it didn't matter to me.
Grocery warehouses should make lumpers pass drug tests; this way there wouldn't be any lumpers.D.Tibbitt, Badmon, BUMBACLADWAR and 8 others Thank this. -
I have to wait 2hrs for detention pay, and I have an appt at 10, 2hrs north of here.
-
Grocery warehouse people don't care; it's all about them. They'll cause you to be late on purpose and laugh about it.
Texas_hwy_287, D.Tibbitt, Badmon and 3 others Thank this. -
This is US Foods, not grocery.

Why do you hate Unions? They didn't force these guys to strike, the workers have the vote on that, and most strikes today are around contact negotiations. Maybe they haven't got a raise in 10 years, or the company switched to single-ply toilet paper. Who knows, but I guarantee those guys would rather be workingalready gone, born&raisedintheusa, Dominick253 and 5 others Thank this. -
The only time our industry made any real progress is when WE went on strike. What a concept!
mitmaks, already gone, Badmon and 1 other person Thank this. -
My short stint in dry van has taught me lumper services are nothing more than a legalized version of the mob. It's a freaking racket.
Badmon, sdaniel, born&raisedintheusa and 2 others Thank this. -
Broker prepaid the lumper, waiting on a call back to get it figured out.Dominick253 Thanks this. -
I wish truck drivers had the balls to go on strike. But that would make too much sense.
Divide and conquer is how capitalism works. Workers get screwed while the executives get million dollar bonuses.Badmon, Dominick253, Sho Nuff and 3 others Thank this.
