there seems to be some missing information here.
When I did my studieS (note the plural), the first one was to determine if in fact apnea was invlovled with my symptoms. The SECOND one was done to determine what setting would be therapuetic for me. I was given results for each upon request.
I will concede this was independent of driving happening before I got my cdl. I'm hard pressed to believe he would be woken up during the night to have him put the mask and everything on.
Lastly, it would be MOST helpful OP if you could add some paragraphs and other punctuation. It makes it very difficult to read otherwise.
Lying about sleep apnea?

If he's looking for a good company, I'd have him give Maverick a call and talk to Courtney. Our company is pretty good about accommodating drivers with medical issues. I'd be willing to bed if he needs the other type of machine, the company would help. It never hurts to ask.
Either way, he will be tested if he comes to orientation, and I'm reasonably sure the test results aren't skewed towards anything. If he does have it, Mav will do everything they can to accommodate him. If he doesn't, then no big deal.
Heres the site for the company and all their info. I'm very happy and very well treated here, not to mention there is no way I would be paid anywhere near as much with 1 year experience at another company.

I think the problem here is she's looking for the answer she wants, not that she might need. You're asking people about companies that don't do sleep apnea tests or how to get around it. Let me repeat what I had said. If he has sleep apnea, its a serious problem and could lead to bigger problems and death. It's nothing to play with. The best avenue is to go to Maverick as was stated, let them test him, and if indeed he has sleep apnea, they will take care of it for him, which, in my opinion, is extremely generous. It doesn't matter if he doesn't like it or not. That's not the issue. The issue is your husband may have a serious health issue and you're asking how you don't have to deal with it. If its not dealt with, he will: A. Not be employable; B. get into a wreck and hurt someone or, C. Die. That's it. That's not what you want to hear, but its what you need to hear. Maverick will help your husband as stated. That is your best avenue. I understand your finances are tight, but if its not taken care of, they are going to be much worse.

I'm going to make one final attempt to try to convince you to make the right choice here. So here are some important things you need to consider:
1. Sleep apnea is a well documented killer. Your husband literally stops breathing when he sleeps. It's not a joke, and it's not the common cold. All it takes is for him to stop breathing for more than three minutes a single time, and that's it, he doesn't wake up. He needs to figure out how to use the CPAP machine or one of its alternatives, regardless of whether or not he gets into trucking.
2. If he took a sleep study, the results are documented SOMEWHERE. His potential employer is very likely to find those records. Even if they don't, if he gets into ANY accident, they're going to rip apart his entire history - logs, records, tickets, accidents, insurance, everything. Even if the accident is not his fault, if they find those results, they'll make it his fault. There are drivers serving time in prison right now that were involved in accidents that they had nothing to do with, but they were fudging their logs, and they were jailed on the premise that "If they had done their logs right, they would not have been there when the accident occurred." Regardless of what some may tell you, DOT regulations are not a joke. Take them seriously.
3. Given the fact that trucking is already a ridiculously over-regulated industry as it is, it is unlikely that anyone is going to tell you how to cheat the system, since that's the #1 reason why they keep piling on more regulations every year. Every driver that lies or cheats the system is not only hurting themselves, but all of the rest of us as well, and a lot of us are getting tired of it. If you're looking for a way to cheat they system, please get off these forums and stay out of trucking. We've suffered enough.
4. If none of the above reasons convinces you, how about this: Lying about medical conditions in regards to DOT regulations IS A CRIME. And you have posted about this on a public forum, where your email address and IP address is recorded on each post you make. If your husband does manage to lie and get past the regs, you've been publicly admitting it online, and if anything ever happens, they'll find out, and you really don't want to see what might happen if they think you planned and thought about this whole thing ahead of time. I know it sounds far-fetched, but a prosecution team could almost claim Conspiracy to Commit a Crime based on your posts here.
I know how it feels to hit upon hard times. That's the main reason I turned to trucking, and it has changed my life for the better. It can do the same thing for you and your husband, but you need to make the right decision is disclose everything. There are resources out there to help you. Companies like Maverick and Schneider are willing to help drivers cope with their medical issues and become successful truck drivers. So please, please make a good decision and use the resources that are available to you. It's not worth jail time, and leaving apnea untreated is not worth his life.RickG, MoGooder, joseph1135 and 2 others Thank this. -
The machine I was made to buy, has variable pressure, that can be adjusted along with the ramp, which sounds like where your husband has the problem. Me too, I had ramp shut off. My company wants 70% compliance at 4 hours a night.
MoGooder Thanks this. -
What don't u get that he CAN NOT use it? I don't want him to lie but what if its not brought up in a month or so he's going to retest ASAP with a regular Dr he can't sleep with it trust me he's still trying and maverick only wants flatbed n our town he wont do that this is a smaller company not big like others well c
-
He CAN use it. They make them for everyone.

OK this is the husband the problem is no company will take me because they want me to be compliant with the cpap I already have, but I can't be compliant with it because the pressure is to high and I can't go to a doc because I don't have insurance ,so the only way to get insurance is to get a job and the only way to get a job is to say I don't have sleep apnea ,so I need to get a job go retest with regular doc and be done with it if I have it I get help if not fine but I really do think the sleep study place fudged it so I would have it ,that's why I want to go through my regular doc to do test , and if they did fudge the test and I did retest and found I didn't have it then I would be lieing about saying i had it and PS for those truckers that think because you been driving for years doesn't mean I can't drive better than you or any other noob
