I don't have the same experience running brokered freight as you guys, only a couple months, so maybe I should keep my gob shut. ?

I know many of the things to be wary of by reading how the guys on here generally deal with things, so I had the benefit of your experience.

Because of you guys I had the gumption to call an agent back when the rate con said to stage my trailer a day ahead. Of course, none of this was mentioned in our phone call. Told them what we would need additional to hold my team trailer for a day in 4th quarter. They wouldn't meet it. I wouldn't budge. We wound up with a better load inside of an hour. No skin off my nose.

    Thanks, gents!

Yeah, that's janky. You need to know that info up front, while we're negotiating. I don't get guys who don't share that info up front. It winds up costing you time more often than not.

That's a new one to me. "Stage your equipment a day early." How about just ask me (after we agree on a load) where I will be empty/what my plans are to accomplish what we agreed upon? I'll tell you my plan. Probably just trying to ensure the carrier isn't doing something like plan to deliver to a place where there are often long unload times and then try to race over to your shipper before they go home. I understand that too. Pretty much the reason why when I am bouncing from on to pa/va/nj/oh/mi/etc. and back I just take the rest of the day off after I get empty. Now that I think about it makes me sound like a bit of a slack ###. Oh well it's how I like to roll.

Ruthless and miss elvee Thank this.

Ya, we do too. No closer than 12hr apart unless so close as to be stupid. Paid off for me two loads ago, took 11hr to unload.
