No, I can't say I've found any of that to be true. They pay lumper fees. As for the other, yes, they will put whatever is needed in the trailer, but I have yet to physically unload anything myself, although I suppose I could in some places (others you can't) if I wasn't so #### lazy.
Did you talk to someone at the company? Because the "very little drop and hook" thing doesn't sound right to me, as we do a LOT of drop and hook. In fact, we (another driver, a couple of dispatchers and I) were just discussing this awhile back. The other driver was talking about buying their own trailer and was told that, while you can do that, it doesn't work real well with what the company does because we do so much drop and hook.
For instance, I will pick up a preloaded trailer in Hutch, KS, take it to WA, unload (no touch), go load apples or cherries and head back to either Hutch or Denver, where I'll unload (again, no touch), then I'll bounce to either (usually)Ft. Morgan (if in Denver) or around the corner to another shipper in Hutch, where I'll drop the trailer I'm pulling, grap a preloaded trailer and beat feet for wherever I'm going next.

Again, I'm not a reefer guy (or wasn't, anyhow) and I am quite happy here.

Have you talked to any of the company drivers? I like seeing small companies treat drivers the way we should be treated if said driver has a good attitude to start with. I pull for a small company out of OKC nice people lots of miles. TY have a great day and BE SAFE!!

Dont know if anyone is still watching this or not but here goes. I have been working for bruenger for 4the years and have been real happy here. I own my truck. All round trips and generally no touch. If you do have to help all you do is tailgate a couple pallets and thats it, easy 60 bucks. There are only 6 dispatcher and they will all call you by name. The load i am on currently was a 3 stop reefer load 2 in vegas 1 in tracy,ca. Picking up a backhaul tomorrow going to be 3 picks then 2 drops. One in tulsa and one in wichita delivers monday. Not every trip is a round trip but probably 98 percent are. If you like being treated like a friend instead of a truck number you will like working here.

Also have never heard of anyone unloading 5000 trees! Guess anything is possible though.

Anything green you tailgate. I've tailgated over 10,000 plants a few times. My first job was hand unloading about 14,000 suits and putting them on racks.

My worst one was 1500 windows stacked to the ceiling. That'll wear you out.

Anybody have a true number of what it comes out to per mile $$$$$?
