Yep. Still here. In fact, I'm feeling secure enough to buy a newer truck, since mine is showing her age. I really like it here.

Well. if you are using THEIR authority and THEIR trailer 68% of the gross isn't all that bad. Running reefer takes a certain person to run it. You drive all night and deliver night and day. I get a lot of appointments starting at midnight. however I do get 9 stops off sometimes in a day. I make good money doing it for myself. As far as lumping freight. I charge what the lumper service charges. I usually average 300 bucks a load to pull the stuff off the truck. And thats on a 6 stop. Most grocery warehouses aren't too bad when your only dropping a few pallets off. Most could care less what time your appointment was as LTL trucks are always running late. I don't know this company, but all I can say about reefer is you don't make big bucks all the time. However, your not sitting unless you want to sit. People gotta eat.

Here is you a fresh update...........I put one of my trucks over there 3 weeks ago because I heard how great they were. First check was 3706 miles that averaged out to $1.19 a mile with the fuel surcharge added in. The driver is having problems with logs because they only allow you to log 60 mph but want you to make deliveries on time after you have sat at the pork plants waiting all that time to pickup. I'm hoping this next week is better or we will be gone. I run containers and bring more home a week running regional than what this truck made running long haul.

I don't know where you get that they only allow you to log 60mph. And, as far as the $1.19 per mile goes, That seems quite low. I just turned down a load that was paying $1.20 to the truck w/FSC and that's the lowest rate I think I've ever had offered to me.

I believe it... this is by far the hardest month I've ever worked. I've been dropping my rates big time to get loads on the board and to keep my trucks moving.

That being said, M. Bruenger has a very good reputation. I loaded them many times with Coke loads from TX to Wichita and every trucker I talk to is happy with the company. And it shows. Drivers are pleasant to speak with, communication is very good and they are always on time. I've been trying their system with my owner operators side.

That's because at an average of $1.19 a mile (loaded and empty) they know they can't make any money with their own trucks, so let some poor owner operator haul for peanuts instead.

    Crazy D Thanks this.
