Are you a smoker? http://www.tomshardware.com/news/AppleCare-Apple-Smoke-Damage-Macbook,9137.html
If you do, you may want to consider that article. U can google for more articles about that subject.
Personally I prefer PC. But then again I like choice in hardware and rights to do what I want with MY laptop I paid for, and get the best deal. I'm also a gamer. You don't get that with mac.
True, Mac does have its advantages. But the release of Windows 7 definitely narrowed that gap. Mac "just works" is true most of the time. But your gonna pay "new tech" prices for "last year's tech." And the reason Macs don't get as much virus's or adware is because of macs market share. Same deal with Linux. Why make a virus to infect 15% of the market when you can make one that can nail 80% Don't quote me on the % but I'm sure its near that.
If you are shopping for computer things. Always check out tigerdirect.com, or newegg.com to compare prices with that one you saw at your local store. They usually have lower prices, not to mention extremely detailed customer ratings on the products.Last edited: Aug 31, 2010

I like Toshiba too. They make nice machines. But for a driver, I would recommend the Tecra over your model. http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/laptop-model.jsp?family=Tecra&model=A11
It's a business machine, built a lot sturdier should last longer riding around in a bumpy truck. My first laptop I bought ten years ago was a Tecra, it had Windows 98 on it. It's still back home in my closet and will boot up and run like it did when it was brand new. -
mac all the way. i used to sell PC computers and NOTHING but troubles and virus. I have now had many macs and NON of them have ever crashed, froze up or got a virus. THEY ARE AMAZING computers. you will NOT go wrong in a mac.

Anyway, if you want a computer that's idiot proof(no offense) and have extra money to throw around. Get the mac. You won't be sorry(mostly.) Just don't be surprised when you find programs that you want won't be compatible with mac, once you know your way around a computer. N as someone said before. If you need to install windows on that mac, you have just defeated the purpose of the mac. -
My PC running Linux is just as idiot proof and just as unaffected by viruses as your Mac. -
This is an excellent link, just what I needed, thanks a bunch

So your saying a 1/4 of dust is ok to fix, but if it just happen to have nicotine, then void it? Cuz either way the computer will have overheating problems.
There is another Apple case that is linking a bad hard drive to smoking. That's why I mentioned it. You want the link?
And you're right Linux could be idiot proof as well. Just as long as you have someone to package it all up for ya. I haven't really played with a Linux OS the past 3 years, but I do remember it was slightly confusing for me to install programs, mount hard drives with that Linux partition scheme, since I was new to Linux. I know its easy for you. Just saying, newbies could get very confused.
