Mack or Freightliner

how well the truck pulls a hill has to do with how its spec'ed out a equally speced truck of any make will pull a hill the same. say you have a freightliner with a 525 n14 13 speed and 370 years it should pull the same hill equally with a pete with a 525 n14 13 speed and 370 rears if weight ect is all equal. so my comment is to biuld quality and design of the truck cab itself.

 

Freightliner will probably have a better resale. If it matters.

 

Of course, you'll also see about 50 Freightliners on the road for every Mack you see.

Mack used to make sitework and vocational trucks... then Volvo raped that company. Fortunately, Kenworth still makes the C500.

To be honest, I'd have a difficult time endorsing any brand of truck anymore. Too much chaff, too much of a pain in the nuts to diagnose and repair things which should be simple... I mean, why do you need hundreds of miles of wire in order to run everything through a chassis node when there was no necessity for it in the past? Like your windshield washer pump, and it's not even going to notify you when there's a problem with that circuit. They all do it anymore. Some engineers forgot the, "just because you can do something doesn't mean you should" philosophy, and took it to an extreme.
