You gotta point.. I just think there's gotta be a way to make it look nice... they've done the same thing to pickup trucks and suv's. All ugly as hell now...

I never understood why peterbilt discontinued the 386. Looked good and got good fuel mileage.

As much as I hated that Freightliner/Western Star killed the 4900, the 49x is gradually growing on me.... I think I need therapy

Honestly I think the 49X looks a lot better than what's coming out of Paccar.

Detroit had it on early DD15s, too.
Saw one in our railhead a few weeks ago. Boydstun lowers them for carhaul now... Those crapcadia doors look huge with the flat roof and the cab lowered.
While you ain't wrong, those rare R-models that used to float around with dual stacks, sleepers, and polished up aluminum bits were cool old critters. Wouldn't want to live with one, but they were pretty bad ###! SmartSelect_20250410-015125_Chrome.jpg

Absolutely I agree. We just got 2 Pete 567's here. I looked at them. That's as far as that will ever go for me. Reminds me of the Freightliner Columbia inside. And I'm sure it'll rattle just the same. But our parts changed would disagree. But he's not too bright

I like the B as well, but would rather have an R myself. Just something about the R that I love, and I haven't quite figured that out yet.

My best friend started his driving career in an R model. He was hauling milk. I rode along a few times when I had time to waste. That was just plain old fun. Ripping around back roads, chasing the chickens at the farms, ripping through small towns at midnight with a straight pipe and the jakes rattling, waking the sleepy townsfolk. The truck only had a 350 with a 9 speed. But I believe it would run with a 550 Cat any day and hold it's own
