i know a guy that started out with a 2006 mack vision with a mack motor Eaton trans and rears. the truck served him very well, he now has 1.2 million on the mack and its now his spare truck out of his fleet of 6 trucks not counting the mack. he now runs all international 99oo-9400's 06-07 with Cummings motors. i asked him why one day why he went from his mack to internationals. he had always praised his mack as a good truck. his reasoning was he wanted to go to a truck with a Cummins motor because he always had issues finding people to work on his mack motor so he wanted to go to Cummins as they are installed in almost every brand of truck almost every shop knows how to work on them. he picked his first international because of price point and stand up walk threw sleepers. and as he added trucks he wanted to keep his fleet uniform so parts would interchange between trucks.

That makes sense I drove a 2001 ch600 for about 4 months it was ok no bells or wistles it was a e7 350 with a 9 speed i thought it was cumfortable and rode good i ran that truck back and forth from Boston to south Dakota with a drop deck it was a light truck the unit weighed in at 30k ...i thought it was a good truck but a sloooow hill climber i also averaged 6.9 MPG...that was great

I was looking at 9400s for the same reason their cheep and there is a million of them out there..and i heard they dont fall apart like the freightshakers..in looking at internationals i stumbled on the Macks..and I was wondering why are they so cheep..now i know..so i can look at possibally buying either a Mack or a international. And i am not a fan of small cab trucks.....I just want a desent truck that will stay together for a couple of years and not break the bank...I dont need to look good going down the road (in a long and tall W900L) i just need to look good going to the bank...I hope that is the rite idea...

I can't speak for the Vision, but did put 1.5 million on E7 before rebuild... sleeves started leaking, but didn't need it otherwise, dang thing could still see cross hatches in liners. They since change piston to 3pc, not sure how they hold up?

Excellent fuel mpg, and w/ 13spd you couldn't go wrong! Get that bronze dog out front, and watch out LOL

yeah for nationwide a cummins is good but on the east coast the mack motor is fine. there are mack and Volvo dealerships everywhere. but the east coast is heavily populated. when you running in the Midwest and western states where its less populated yeah a cummins would make more sense. personally I wouldn't own a mack but that's my preference. they just as good as anything else I just like kw and petes. own a t600 right now and in process of buying a 359. just got to get home when the owner of truck is home lol

i was in a 06 379 63in midroof and then a 2013 388 48" flat top before i started running my fld 120 48" flat top full time. my fld 120 felt like i had tons of room compaired to that 388. its amazing how much difference no bulkhead and a slightly wider forward cab makes. when i got into the 06 379 i had been driving a 680 volvo prior to that and i couldn't tell ya how many times i racked my head on the bulkhead the first week i was in the 379.

i was just on truck paper today looking at the visions after reading this thread. and see they are priced very very reasonably although mack dealers arn't plentiful in my area i do have one in my home town. i may take a look at a few when i get ready to buy my next truck. although ill likely go with another fld or classic

yeah the peterbilt im buying only has a 36 in flat top sleeper so there will not be any room at all in it, but after the end of the year I don't plan on sleeping in the truck anymore but didn't want a daycab because you never know what could happen and may need to stay a night out on the road. but after being used to a midroof sleeper it will def be different with a flattop
