I allowed a broker to track me with MacroPoint. He sent me a text with a link and I clicked it. It installed the app with an icon on my desktop. After I delivered, I deleted the app. A few weeks later another broker from the same company wanted to track me with MacroPoint and I said ok. I got a phone call from some woman who said to press 1 on my phone to install it. I never saw any icon or app in my app manager. A few days later I pulled a load for a completely different company and when I logged into their portal, under history I can see checkpoints throughout my trip. This company never even asked or installed anyting on my phone. I can't find this s#!t anywhere on my phone. I went into developer mode to see what was running in the background and the closest thing I saw was Qualcomm location. I googled it and it's supposed to be part of my operating system. Does anybody know how to get this macropoint crap off my phone?

The drone circling over your truck now will make sure the program is destroyed.

I don't think you can uninstall.

Might try a factory reset on your phone.

Or you can do a software wipe and reload of your phone. There's android forums to tell you where to get the software and how to wipe and reload.

There are apps that will back up your phone contacts. Text messages and what not. You'll have to save your pics to your computer if they're not stored on a sd card. Either way will completely erase your phone.

I don't know why people don't back up there stuff when buying a new phone. Instead of leaving at store for them to do the work.

Are they still using software or do they have new technology now?

Op is saying software so wipe would work.

The one time they tried to get me to install. I hung up.

That was 2 years ago and I haven't seen any discussion on this forum lately. So I have no idea how they're doing it these days.

Macro point is bad bad bad stuff

Pressing 1 gives them access just like a telemarketer can scam your phone remotely.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

Why would anyone say 'yes' to a phone tracking app that could track your phone, and possibly even monitor your phone calls and texts?

Any truck with Qualcom is already tracked.

SingingWolf, Lepton1 and KB3MMX Thank this.
